Jesus JunXion – Proclaiming Freedom, Restoring Hope

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners…” (Isaiah 61:1)

From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised.

Psalm 113:3

Founded on this promise, Jesus JunXion has been a place of refuge, healing, and restoration for over a decade. Established with a deep burden for the broken, we have worked to bring beauty instead of ashes, joy instead of mourning, and praise instead of despair (Isaiah 61:3). Our mission is simple yet powerful—to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those in need.

Every life we touch is not just about providing aid but about witnessing God’s transformative power at work. At the heart of this ministry is a team deeply committed to walking in obedience to God’s calling, each carrying a unique anointing and purpose.

Our Leadership Team

  • Pastor Gwen du Preez – Senior Pastor
“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.”Isaiah 61:1
    • Gwen, Senior Pastor of Jesus JunXion, was called by God at a young age to serve others in a way that would forever change the direction of her life. Her ministry was founded on the powerful act of washing feet—an act that symbolizes humility, service, and deep, sacrificial love. When Gwen came to Christ as a child, she encountered the God of movement and transformation. This encounter ignited a burning love in her heart for people to choose Jesus at the crossroads of their lives. She has never been the same, and this passion has carried her through every step of Jesus JunXion’s journey.
    • In her early walk with the Lord, Gwen experienced first-hand the transformative power of God’s love—a love that compelled her to lay down her life for others. From the beginning of her ministry, Jesus JunXion was birthed from this burning love—a love that relentlessly pursues restoration, healing, and freedom in Christ. The call on Gwen’s life has always been to bring the brokenhearted into wholeness, proclaim freedom to the captives, and release those in darkness.
    • As she is reminded of Isaiah 61:1, Gwen has anchored her life and ministry in the words: “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.” (Isaiah 61:1)
      • These words not only shape her own heart but are woven deeply into the very fabric of Jesus JunXion—a ministry founded to meet people at their point of need, especially at their darkest moments. It is the mission of Jesus JunXion to be a place where the broken find healing and the captives find freedom. Gwen believes that when people walk through the doors of this ministry, they are entering a sacred space where the healing hands of Jesus are extended, bringing restoration to the soul.
    • As Senior Pastor, Gwen carries the mantle of shepherding the ministry, nurturing and guiding its growth. Her extensive training in Theology and Counseling through Team Impact University has equipped her with the knowledge, wisdom, and compassion necessary to help others navigate their journey in Christ. She has personally trained each team member, instilling in them the importance of walking the road ordained by God and not by man. Her leadership is not just about vision but about serving others in love and humility, the way Jesus modeled for us through His life and sacrifice.
    • Gwen’s role is to equip the body of Christ—to ensure that every person who walks through the doors of Jesus JunXion feels seen, loved, and empowered to experience the fullness of God’s grace. She does this by training, mentoring, and leading with an unwavering faith that rests on the belief that God is the author and perfecter of this ministry. Gwen’s passion for restoration continues to fuel everything that happens at Jesus JunXion, from counseling programs to outreach efforts. It is this very same passion that continues to grow, strengthen, and shape the ministry into a lighthouse for the lost.
    • Her mission, rooted in the love of Christ, is to see people walk in freedom, healing, and wholeness—and to never forget that it was Jesus who first washed feet, empowering her to do the same for others. Through it all, she remains anchored in the love of Christ, knowing that nothing is too broken for God to restore and nothing is too far gone for Him to redeem.
  • Andre du Preez – Strategic Leadership & Support
Isaiah 46:4“Even to your old age and gray hairs, I am he. I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.”
    • Andre is a steadfast pillar of strength in Jesus JunXion, ensuring the ministry functions with both vision and stability. His practical wisdom and ability to mobilize resources have turned countless dreams into realities, enabling the ministry to reach more lives in need of hope and healing. Whether it’s managing logistics, offering counsel, or providing a reassuring presence in times of crisis, Andre remains committed to seeing lives changed through the love of Christ.
    • While his role is often behind the scenes, Andre’s ministry also extends to the vital work of ensuring that our systems continue to run smoothly. As an IT engineer, he keeps all technological platforms operating efficiently, ensuring that Jesus JunXion remains connected and accessible to those who need it most. His expertise in technology allows the ministry to expand its reach through online platforms, digital outreach, and communication systems—facilitating connection and access to resources, especially in a time when digital platforms are vital for spreading the Gospel.
    • Andre’s unwavering support enables the outreach programs, prayer networks, and educational resources of Jesus JunXion to function seamlessly, and he ensures that every aspect of the ministry remains organized and effective in serving the community. His work might not always be seen, but its impact is felt across every area of the ministry.
    • He stands firmly on the promise found in Isaiah 46:4“Even to your old age and gray hairs, I am he. I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.” This verse speaks directly to Andre’s journey in ministry. He knows that God is his ultimate strength and sustainer, and in every season of life, God will continue to uphold and carry him in his work.
    • Through his dedication and faithful service, Andre has helped create a stable foundation that allows Jesus JunXion to thrive. Whether it’s managing the practical aspects of ministry or keeping the digital channels of hope open, Andre’s commitment to Christ and to this ministry remains unwavering.
  • Sloan Dwyer – Men’s Counseling Program & Outreach
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”Psalm 147:3
    • Sloan leads the men’s counseling program, walking one-on-one with men on their road to healing. He believes in the power of restoration, guiding men to confront their struggles and rediscover their identity in Christ. His heart for mentorship and discipleship ensures that every man he counsels finds the strength to rise again.
    • Beyond individual counselling, Sloan is actively involved in family restoration initiatives, working closely with fathers, husbands, and sons who are seeking to rebuild broken relationships. He provides guidance and biblical teaching to help men become strong spiritual leaders within their homes, offering practical tools for reconciliation, forgiveness, and godly fatherhood.
    • As part of our outreach programs, Sloan leads community-driven efforts to reach men battling addiction, homelessness, and past trauma. Through structured mentorship groups, he helps men break free from destructive cycles and find their true purpose in Christ. His work extends to youth mentorship, where he invests in young men, teaching them about integrity, responsibility, and biblical manhood to prevent them from falling into the same struggles many adults face.
    • Through men’s retreats, discipleship programs, and partnerships with local rehabilitation centers, Sloan ensures that Jesus JunXion is not only a place of healing but also a launching pad for men to step into their God-given callings. His ministry is rooted in Psalm 147:3—”He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds”—a promise that no life is beyond redemption in Christ.
  • Chantell Dwyer – Ministry Operations & Outreach
“Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people.”Ephesians 6:7
    • Chantell brings warmth, organization, and a servant’s heart to Jesus JunXion. She works closely with management, ensuring the ministry runs smoothly and effectively reaches those in need. Her heart for community outreach and her ability to connect with people have made her a vital force in spreading God’s love to the brokenhearted.
    • Chantell is not only the heart of the administration team at Jesus JunXion, but she also carries a profound calling to serve the young girls and young mothers who come to the ministry. Her past, marked by both struggle and triumph, has shaped her into a fighter—someone who knows what it’s like to face adversity and rise above it. Through her own journey, she has developed an unshakable strength, which she now uses to empower others. The challenges she has faced have only made her stronger, and they have given her a deep sense of empathy for those navigating similar struggles.
    • Chantell’s personal experiences have ignited within her a hunger to minister to the most vulnerable—those who feel lost in their identity or overwhelmed by the demands of life and motherhood. Her heart breaks for the young women who are caught in cycles of despair, and she is determined to walk alongside them as they find their worth in Christ and break free from these chains.
  • Gwen Dwyer – Prayer Warrior & Spiritual Nurturer
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18—”Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
    • Gwen teaches by example that prayer is not just a duty—it is a lifeline that keeps Jesus JunXion moving in step with the Holy Spirit.
    • Affectionately known as “the mother of us all,” Gwen Dwyer carries the ministry in prayer and wisdom, serving as a steadfast intercessor and spiritual nurturer. She is the one who nurtures, counsels, and strengthens the team, ensuring that every aspect of Jesus JunXion is covered in intercession. Her unwavering faith reminds us daily that this ministry is not built on human strength but on God’s power.
    • Prayer is not just an afterthought—it is the foundation upon which this ministry stands. Gwen fervently seeks the Lord for guidance, protection, and breakthrough, knowing that without prayer, no work in the Kingdom can truly prosper. She leads prayer gatherings, intercessory teams, and spiritual warfare sessions, equipping others to stand firm in faith. Through her dedication, she teaches that prayer is not only a source of comfort but a mighty weapon against the enemy.

In the past fourteen years, Jesus JunXion has established soup kitchens, homes of safety for abused and abandoned children, and places of solitude for the weary. Through these efforts, countless lives have been touched, not just with physical provision but with the life-transforming love of Christ.

Through this journey, we have learned that true hope is found only in Jesus. The things we once held dear have faded, replaced by a deeper trust in the One who called us first. No matter our failures, no matter our missteps, God remains faithful—providing, guiding, and revealing His purpose in ways we never imagined.

Though seasons have changed, Gwen and Andre remain a large part of Jesus JunXion, continuing to walk the road of faith they first embarked upon. Their journey has been one of sacrifice, obedience, and unshakable trust, pouring out their lives for the broken, the weary, and the lost. They continue to teach, counsel, and disciple—ensuring that the vision God gave them remains a living, breathing movement of His grace.

At the core of everything we do, Jesus JunXion is anchored in hope—not a fleeting, worldly hope, but a steadfast, unshakable hope found in Christ alone. This hope is the anchor that holds firm through every storm, guiding us to the places God calls us to go.

As part of this calling, we have set sail, taking the Gospel to coastal borders—carrying the message of Christ’s love to places where hope is scarce and the light of Jesus is desperately needed. Yet, even as the waves carry us to new horizons, we remain deeply connected to Jesus JunXion. The foundation of our ministry was built here, and it continues to be a home—a place where lives are restored, the broken are healed, and the lost are found.

Jesus JunXion continues to serve the North West province with unwavering commitment, ensuring that those in need do not go unnoticed. Every meal served, every child rescued, every heart encouraged is a testimony of God’s relentless love and the hope that does not disappoint. Through outreach programs, discipleship training, and intercessory prayer, the ministry continues to thrive—not because of human effort, but because of God’s sustaining hand.

Hebrews 6:19 speaks to this mission: “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” Whether on land or at sea, in cities or on distant shores, our calling remains the same—to bring the hope of Jesus to every heart that longs for Him.

Gwen and Andre’s calling has never been about building an organization—it has always been about building the Kingdom. And by God’s grace, Jesus JunXion will remain anchored in hope, standing as a beacon of restoration and unwavering love for generations to come.

From sunrise to sunset, we will serve the Lord. We are a people called by God, planted as oaks of righteousness to display His splendor. This is our mission. This is Jesus JunXion.

God Bless,

Gwen du Preez
